Google Adsense locations and setups

August 2nd, 2007 by Andy Staple

August Adsense Ad PlacementI’ll be testing how well Google Adsense does for me with different setups and locations on my F-Body Forum for the next few months. I’ll go a whole month with each set-up and determine which seems to give the best clicks.

One thing you should know is that I added conditionals that make it so only guests can see the ads. Some people don’t like doing this because it limits the amount of people seeing it, but I personally think that your members are less likely to click an advertisement than a guest. Also, why harass registered members with ads when you can keep it nice and clean for them without them?

My Setup for this month:

Please keep us updated on this, I used to do this on one of my forums awhile back ago, but I just keep running out of time.

I’ve been using quite a few different ad layouts on my own forum, so I’m definitely interested in the results, unfortunately I haven’t tracked my results too well, are you also adding ads into posts or just the 2 adlinks here?
